Biography

Kat Callo is a leading expert on the dramatic transformation in apartment ownership in England and Wales. As founding director of Rosetta Consulting Limited, based in London, she provides online services, strategy advice and project management to leaseholders of flats wishing to buy their building freehold or extend their leases. Callo is the author of the best-selling books "The Survivor's Guide To Buying A Freehold" and "Making Sense of Leasehold Property". Prior to incorporating Rosetta, she enjoyed a successful 17-year career at Reuters, initially as a foreign correspondent based in Europe and Asia, and later as senior vice president at Reuters global headquarters in London. Callo has an MS from Columbia University School of Journalism, an MSc in Management from London Business School and a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Purchase. A native-born New Yorker, she is a British-American dual national. Callo lives with her husband and two sons in London and Suffolk, England.

Kat Callo has specialised for three decades in the transformational power of access to high-quality information. For 17 years she worked at Reuters. She was a correspondent based in London, Brussels, Manila, Hong Kong and Hanoi, and was later promoted to executive roles at the global London headquarters. Callo completed her Reuters career in 2002 as senior vice president, in charge of one of the company's first online media businesses. Her interest at Rosetta Consulting Ltd, which she founded in 2002, is to help transform the UK's outdated apartment ownership system. Callo is a founding trustee of Project Mosaic, a UK-based global tolerance, anti-hate charity set up in memory of her cousin, Dave Fontana, one of the 343 New York firefighters that died while rescuing some 28,000 people from the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Project Mosaic runs projects that promote interfaith and interculture awareness and tolerance, multicultural good citizenship and integration of immigrant communities, and that combat group hatred and extremism. Callo, a native New York and American-British dual national, is married and has two sons. Her family divides its time between London and Suffolk, England. Callo's interests include trekking, sailing, skiing, foreign language study and organising get-togethers with her large extended family. Callo's favourite pastime is hanging out with her husband and boys.
